A note on hip hop classes: Our hip hop classes are choreography based. Hip hop culture has its foundations in a variety of styles and elements. All of our teachers try to weave historical context into their classes, but we want to clarify that "hip hop" on our schedule refers to choreo. For example, our "Hip Hop Foundations" class refers to teaching body control, timing, and textural elements to amplify choreographic performance, and not the foundations of hip hop culture itself.
A note on world dance classes: Any classes on the schedule that have a world dance element (such as Afro-Fusion) are taught by instructors who've been thoroughly immersed and trained in the culture, actively spread the knowledge and history, and consistently open the doors for more knowledge and appreciation of the genre.
